It’s been an exciting week on the restoration project of Oil Tanker L759 as we were joined by Bob Petrovski from Precision Dustless Blasting to strip the tanker back to bare metal in preparation for paint.
The process of dustless blasting combines water and aggregate into a slurry, in our case recycled glass, which is then blasted on to the surface using a high-pressured hose to remove any paint, organic growth and rust.
The blasting process was completed over two days and the team were then able to apply the primer the following day, and have now applied the first coat of black paint. The result has been fantastic and the tanker is going to look amazing when it’s completed.
We’re looking forward to using the dustless blasting process again for future restoration projects.
