Over the cooler months, our volunteers have been working hard to maintain our gardens and landscaping in preparation for spring. Across the precinct at Cooma, we have a variety of gardens (including our award-winning roses 🏆🌹) as well as some fantastic fruit trees, many of which were planted by workers during the Snowy Hydro era.
Before the warmer weather returns, many of our plants and trees needed some extra love which included pruning of bushes, trimming and thinning trees, weeding garden beds, fertilising and new mulch all the way around. This has been a huge effort and our volunteers have been working extremely hard over the last couple of months to ensure that they are ready for spring.
But we haven’t stopped there. Our volunteers have continued to develop the landscaping around the precinct with the creation of new gardens along our goods yard entry road and new gardens in the grounds of the Railway Institute Building. With the unseasonably warm weather that we’ve had this winter, some of the bulbs have already started to sprout!
A huge shout out to Snowy Mountains Tree Service for their continued support by supplying us with mulch for all of our gardens.👉 https://www.snowymtnstreeservice.com.au/
We can’t wait to see what it looks like in spring!
