Work on landscaping and gardens across the Cooma Railway Precinct has continued through February as we work toward bringing our museum concept plan to life.

Thanks to the generous support of Transport for NSW and Transport Heritage NSW, we received the first 50 of 100 Ornamental Pear Trees that will be planted around the perimeter of the railway precinct. These are the same trees that currently line Hilton Street in front of Aldi. The trees will continue from the existing line, inside the fence line of the railway precinct across to the Goods Shed entrance, past the tennis courts and along either side of the Bradley Street entry.

As these trees mature, they will not only enhance the exterior of the precinct but also help to create beautiful tree-lined pathways around the precinct and provide screening for ornamental gardens, BBQ and picnic areas that our visitors will be able to enjoy while visiting the museum.

A special thank you to Katrina Healy for the loan of her Kanga to assist with digging the holes for the trees, saving our volunteers many hours (and sore backs).
