Work is continuing on the interior restoration of wagon MBC22959. Our volunteers have been applying the final coats of varnish to the interior walls of the wagon while the beautiful new floor has received it’s first coat of Black Japan stain.

Work will continue this week with another coat of Black Japan to be applied to floor before a final coat of varnish and the team can move on to painting the metalwork at the end of the wagon.

A lot of hours have gone into this restoration project and it’s looking amazing. We look forward to finishing the project and sharing our work with visitors to the museum.

Great work team 👏👏👏
